Unit of Energy Efficient Building
The Unit of Energy Efficient Building at the University of Innsbruck sees its task as supporting the sustainable renewal process, on the one hand by training competent engineers and architects, and on the other hand through consistent research and development for the benefit of people's health, sustainable development and the protection of the environment. Our focus is on the various sub-areas and components that need to be improved or optimised, but we also look at the complex interplay within the overall system in order to find optimal overall solutions within the scope of the many possibilities.
The Unit of Energy Efficient Building is closely linked to the Research Center Sustainable Building.

News from the Unit

The Unit of Energy Efficient Building at the Lighting Technology Congress 2025
David Geisler-Moroder and Sascha Hammes were on site and were able to provide insights into ongoing research projects in their presentation "Light for energy-efficient buildings: research projects at the University of Innsbruck".

Partner Meeting in Rosenheim: Focus on heat pumps in building refurbishment
The latest partner meeting of our KnowHowHP project took place on 13 and 14 May at Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences.

Final Workshop: Monitoring Innsbruck Campagne
Final workshop at the NHT with the project partners (UIBK, IIG, NHT, Stransky) and other stakeholders. After a three-year monitoring period, the comprehensive analyses and their results were presented.

Energy Efficient Building on board the MS Wissenschaft.
Scientists from the University of Innsbruck have designed an exhibit that is touring German and Austrian waters this summer as part of a hands-on exhibition on the ship MS Wissenschaft.
